All the natural duvets and pillows have been designed for domestic washing. For best results, have your duvet laundered professionally. Otherwise, use an industrial size washing machine with a large drum capacity (+15kgs). Only use a ‘mild’ detergent (baby safe) . Do not over load the wash drum as this will reduce the efficiency of your wash and rinse cycles.
Water temperature of 60 degrees C will kill any unwanted bacteria that has accumulated between washes (i.e…body oils, perspiration and surface dust mites). Use wool programme to minimize shrinkage.
DO NOT DRY CLEAN - chemicals often associated with dry cleaning many damaged delicate down fills. This will help to extend the natural life of your duvet
* The duvets and pillows MUST be thoroughly dried. Damp down and feathers can go mouldy and smell.
* To help speed up the drying process and renew the ‘loft’ of the fill, place a couple of clean tennis balls (4-8) in the dryer.
* To ensure that you enjoy your duvet/pillow for many years, DYKON A/S recommends:
* Allowing your duvet/pillow to cool before putting the bedspread on so that moisture will evaporate
* Shaking your duvet every day and airing it regularly
* Don’t beat or vacuum your duvet
* If your duvet/pillow needs to be washed:
* Use a non-biological detergent
* Avoid use of fabric softener
Use the washing machine:
* A 7kg machine for duvets, bigger for double duvets
* Wash one pillow at a time
* Always dry down products in the tumble dryer. If possible, put a couple of tennis balls in too.
* Take the product out a couple of times during drying and shake it to make drying more effective.
* product must be completely dried.
